506- “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken” Full Recap

Tonight Gary and Nicole discuss the latest episode of Game of Thrones, 506 titled “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken”. We see a young girl who gets slapped several times by a grown man. We see a queen get carried away to rot in a dungeon, as her husband/king sits back and watch. We see a failed attempt of three heartbroken young women kidnap a young girl. We watched as another young woman married a psycho and immediately afterwards was raped by the same psycho. It was not a good day for woman in the world of Game of Thrones.

Despite all the horrors we saw, we still very much enjoyed the episode.  We have been watching this show for awhile, and we know the things we see, will sometimes shock and awe us, such as a man’s face getting squished into the ground, or an evil boy die in his mother’s arms from poison, and lets not forget the time that a small child was pushed out a window. The reason we enjoy this show, is because it pushes the envelope. It tells a story unlike any other on television, and it leaves us talking and/or crying for days after it airs. It is entertainment, and as much as we are disgusted with what happened to Sansa Stark in this episode, the hopes of seeing her get her revenge will be even sweeter.

506i- Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken- Instant Cast

This week Nicole and Gary both agreed that the director redeemed himself from last week’s episode. We enjoyed the story and pace on this 6th episode from season 5 of Game of Thrones. Emotions were definitely high in the last 5 minutes of the episode, and we are really looking forward to the day that Sansa gets her revenge. Tommen totally punked out this week, and the Sand Snakes attempt at starting a war was an epic fail.

We would love to hear what you thought of this episode or the season so far, so send your feedback in to watchthethrone@theverdictsin.com. You can view all of content on our website – http://theverdictsin.com . Our full recap will be up Tuesday night.

101- “Where Paradise is Home”- Full Recap

Gary and Nicole recap the first episode of the new FOX thriller/mystery, “Wayward Pines”. We thought it was a solid first episode and are looking forward to finding out what Wayward Pines is really all about. We both agreed the characters were acting really weird, and the time difference is pretty cool as well. We made our predictions at the end of the episode on what we think this is really all about, and will revisit them at the end of this 10 episode series.

We look forward to hearing your predictions, comments, and feedback at waywardpines@theverdictsin.com. You can find all of our content on our website- http://theverdictsin.com, where you can also listen to our Game of Thrones Podcast.

505- “Kill the Boy”- Full Recap

Tonight Gary and Nicole go scene by scene to discuss the HBO Game of Thrones series, season 5, episode 5, titled “Kill the Boy”. We both enjoyed seeing what people with full greyscale act and look like, and how much of a threat they pose. We enjoyed seeing Tyrion’s reaction to witnessing Drogon first hand. We did not enjoy the directing in this episode, to where Gary actually listed this as his least favorite GoT episode. Let us know what you thought of this episode either in the comments section beow, or you can send us an email -watchthethrone@theverdictsin.com

505i- Kill The Boy- Instant Cast

Gary and Nicole discuss their immediate thoughts on Game of Thrones, S5 E5- “Kill the Boy”. As always, we thought it was a solid episode, although Gary was missing some of his favorite characters. We both did agree on our dislike for Daenerys plans to marry Hizdahr. We loved seeing the dragons, and even more so, Tyrion’s reaction to when he saw one. Make sure you join us back Tuesday night for our full recap of the show, where we discuss each scene. We love and encourage listener feedback, so be sure to send an email with your thoughts on the episode or show as a whole to watchthethrone@theverdictsin.com

Wayward Pines Podcast-Season 1 Preview

Gary and Nicole have watched several trailers, interviews, and has read several reviews on the new FOX thriller, Wayward Pines. Today we discuss what we think the show is going to be about and what we hope to see. If you have never seen the trailer or even heard of the show, no worries, we discuss everything you need to know to get you ready for the season premiere, Thursday May 14th @9pm est. We are really looking forward to seeing this all star cast, which includes- Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard, Juliette Lewis, Melissa Leo, and Toby Jones. The show definitely had the feelings of Lost, Twin Peaks, Under the Dome, and Persons Unknown. We love a good mystery, especially when it turns out to not be the obvious. Make sure to catch the season premiere this Thursday.

We love listener feedback, so be sure to send all your thoughts, predictions, and comments to waywardpines@theverdictsin.com

The Strain- The Hunt is On-New Official Trailer

Last summer Guillermo Del Toro’s tv horror drama, The Strain delivered an impressive 8 million viewers on its first episode. This is another television show that is based off a book trilogy written by Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hogan. The show is centered around Dr.Ephraim Goodweather, who is the head of the Centers for Disease Control Canary Team. Goodweather and his colleagues are called in to investigate a plane that had landed at the airport, but had no lights on and nobody had exited the plane. Upon further inspection, it appears that all passengers except four are dead. Against the wishes of Dr. Goodweather, those four survivors are released to their families, which eventually leads to an outbreak.

I haven’t read the books, but from what I hear, the television shows strays a little from the books. I really enjoyed last season, although I do believe there is room for improvement, and with the success of the first season, I hope we get to see that improvement this season. The Verdicts In decided that we enjoyed where the story was headed, so we are going to cover season 2. At this time we will not have an instant cast for this show, but we will do a full recap within 48hrs after the episode airs.

If you haven’t had a chance to watch season 1, episodes are available to purchase on Google play, iTunes, and Amazon. Hopefully they will have a season 1 marathon before season 2 starts.

The official premier date for season two has not been announced, but if it is anything like last season, it will premiere mid- July. I will provide an update once it is given. In the mean time, a new trailer has just been released and is listed below.

Let us know in the comment section what you think of The Strain series, or what you think of the trailer.
